Obama Can’t Save America

Living in the Hope of My Imagination by William Simpson provides candid and honest answers as to why.

Simpson worked in both Washington DC and the Northern Virginia areas for 20 years among high-end restaurants that catered to political heavy weights and lobbyists, their lawyers and the many up and coming juniors who will do anything to gain the attention of established monarchs, to secure their public service tenure. Simpson’s observation sheds a whole new light on the few select minds that dictate how the American people live.

Living in the Hope of My Imagination is a much needed dialogue that does this in a fashion that’s rare in the publishing world. Simpson writes from and uses his life’s and his work experience to detail the collapse of morality in America, and the inevitable price we have all had to pay.

Senators and Congressman play the Republican and Democrat party game as if the two parties have different points of view. They present themselves as being loyal to their constituent’s hopes and wishes, and will say what the Gallup Polls or senior advisors tell them what they had better say. But in reality, bipartisan politics have raped the American people of their moral conscience and self-respect. Simpson has served drinks to heavy-hitters from both sides of the political circus and after inebriation sets in, public enemies become intimate friends. The power lunches are about tactics to impose new policies and laws, who to lobby and pork spending, and the dinners are to celebrate the ignorance of their constituents. Simpson believes that many elected politicians are working together to strangle the life out of Americas endangered constitution.

Simpson says that Americans should be concerned with special interests like the Matthew Sheppard/James Byrd Jr Hate Crimes Bill, which was signed into law on October 28, 2009 by President Obama. This is believed by many to be a successful attempt to establish government controlled regulations that will eventually be used to restrict free speech. The examples of what has already happened in Europe and more recently in Canada, proves the direction in which the federal government wants to take the American people. And if politicians are successful in the amending of, or rewriting the First Amendment to appease special interests, the class separations will fall. This is when the proponents of hope and change will realize the fools they were played to be.

Socialism has only two classes. Those with power, and everyone else.

Living in the Hope of My Imagination a must read for those who long to know what it will take to bring these criminals to justice, and then rebuild hope in a nation’s people who have lost all sense of who they really are.

Investing In Gold

A very diversified investment portfolio has a minor opening for a position in gold. Some people think that investing in gold means buying gold coins, usually South African Kruger Rands, which are one troy ounce in weight. Other speculators buy gold futures on the commodity exchange.

However, futures contracts are tremendously risky because you are betting that the price of gold will rise or fall in the future. The contract itself requires a fairly small up front payment, but you will have to put up guarantees called margin to take care of daily changes in cost.

The reason investors are attracted to gold at the moment is because often in the past, when the stock market is down, the gold market is up. Weakness in the dollar frequently brings a surge in the price of gold too.

Another method of investing in gold is through bonds and precious metal funds, which can be bought through a stock broker. However, you will need to select your adviser very carefully, because this field of investing requires highly specialized expertise.

The following tips are meant as examples only as you will need up-to-the-minute information, if you are considering investing in stocks, shares and funds. One of the names that will come up in any search is Agnico-Eagle Mines, which trades on the NYSE and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker AEM. They have 30+ year history in the production of gold and In that time, they have produced 4,000,000+ ounces of gold.

Gold has made massive profits for investors in gold since the late 1970’s. However, the key to making profits from gold is knowledge of the different resistance points in the price and the evaluation of the global market for the use of gold. It is used primarily in jewellery and electronics and some other types of manufacturing.

The biggest markets for gold jewellery is India and other Eastern countries. China’s new-found prosperity is also having an effect on the markets, although manufacturing is still of prime significance there.

You will have to have a good stockbroker or consultant, because the gold market is so complex. If you are investing in gold as a hedge against a vulnerable dollar, you are taking huge risks and you will have to to look for any strengthening in the dollar like a hawk. A fairly shrewd tactic is to set yourself reasonable goals. For instance, are you content with a 10% profit or are you going to hang out for a 25% gain?

Gold can be affected by seasonal events. Check out when people in India get married. It is seasonal and around Christmas time. Then St. Valentine’s Day is a realistic stimulus too, but you or your adviser will have to study the trends and the graphs.

You can get into gold mining stocks for fairly small money, but it is not the cost of the share certificate that is important, it is the yield on those shares. Be on your guard with small mining companies, because the expenses of exploration are ruinous. Likewise, profits on hitting a big seam would be wonderful for a small company.

How To Run A Wedding Car Business

Have you ever thought about running a wedding car business? Although it can be stressful, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also interesting and exciting.

Some of the benefits are that you get to own good-looking vehicles – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy circumstances and you are in the position to help them have a wonderful wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you keep your vehicles. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really lovely cars. You will need to do a bit of research to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old vehicles go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars step by step but increasingly. Offer your clients as much choice as you can realistically afford to do.

Many wedding couples will not only require the wedding car, but also vehicles for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old vehicles for their wedding day. But a lot of other vehicles are required for the guests. Be adaptable and consent to bedeck the cars according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, sympathetic personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style chauffeur can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make sure that your clients know exactly how long they have exclusive use of the cars for. This is useful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transport plays a huge and vital part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, particularly in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality cars that look the part. White wedding cars are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

What Is In A Wine Glass?

The rising trend of popularity of wine has led to a boom in things to go with wine like corkscrews, stoppers, coolers, napkins, pouring baskets, decanters, candles, thermometers, bottle jackets, hydrometers and dozens of varieties of each accessory from electric versions to manual ones. Needless to say, a lot of these accessories will be used until the novelty wears off and then left at the back of the cupboard.

However, there is one category of wine drinking accessory that no wine drinker should be without and that is wine glasses. They are essential, I am sure that everyone would agree. But the good thing about wine glasses is that they are decorative when they are not in use too. A set of six lead crystal wine glasses is a beautiful sight. And a fine set of glasses correctly fashioned for the wine you are drinking will greatly improve your enjoyment of that wine.

This is because the shape of the glass is very influential on the drinker’s capacity to savour the taste and the aroma of wine. Therefore, it is necessary to use the correct glasses for the type of wine being served.

Red wines benefit a lot from contact with air, so, aside from opening the bottle an hour before drinking it, you could decant it. The older and heavier the wine, the more air it needs. The next step is to serve the red wine in large glasses. This is not so as to be able to get as much wine in there as possible! A full, normal size bottle contains six servings no matter what glass you use, but a large glass allows you to swirl the wine around the glass, thereby increasing its contact with air.

A large tulip shaped glass is a good illustration of this kind of wine glass and any dark red wine would benefit from being drunk out of such a vessel. Try a Rioja or Bordeaux, for instance.

White wines, on the other hand, do not need to breathe for as long as red wines and are best served slightly chilled. Therefore, the wine glasses are likely to have a smaller bowl and a longer stem. The bowl is smaller, because swirling is not necessary and the stem is longer, so that the warmth from your hand does not warm the wine up prematurely. Try a Chardonnay, a Sauvignon or a German wine in these glasses.

Champagne glasses are called champagne flutes because the bowl is long and narrow, which allows the bubbles to float through more of the wine than if the bowl were short. This is beneficial for the wine, the taste and its appearance. The stem is also long as with other white wines to reduce heat transference.

The last main kind of glass is the sherry schooner, which is also used for port. Sherry and port are both heavy reds and so need to breathe, which is one of the reasons why they ought to be decanted. However, a schooner has hardly any stem, because the warmth from your hand is required to keep the wine at the right temperature.

Apart from the shape of the bowl and the length of the stem, the next most significant factor is the quality of the glass and its design. Some people like hand-blown glass and it can be very beautiful, but it also tends to be light and delicate. I prefer to use lead crystal glasses, which are a lot heavier and can take a deeper pattern.

Coastal Cottages

Seaside holidays are extremely popular which is why every year, millions of tourists head for seaside beaches. Perhaps you like coastal holidays too. seaside holidays are fabulous, but that can be the problem too, because it frequently means overcrowding, queuing, rubbish and noise. Have you ever thought about renting your own private coastal cottage? Many only dream about it, but it is not that difficult or costly to arrange actually.

One point to bear in mind is that, public beaches are well-known and that is why they get too busy. However, private coastal cottages are often secluded or on private beaches, which makes for a much quieter holiday. Often, local people living only miles from the cottage do not know that they are there. In spite of this, most coastal cottages do not cost a fortune to rent.

These coastal cottages are to be had in many countries around the world. They are certainly very popular in Britain, Europe and the United States. The level of privacy and the facilities available will depend on where you go. A coastal cottage in Wales will give you a far different holiday than a coastal cottage in southern France or Coney Island.

Many coastal cottages are located near a popular vacation destination. Not right in the middle of the venue, but generally a few miles or less outside, so that you can easily drive in or even walk in, if you want some livelier entertainment. Typical coastal cottage leisure activities include swimming, sailing, fishing and walking.

Of course, one of the important considerations when renting a cottage is the rental fee itself. Now the funny thing is that is not nearly such a big consideration as you might think it would be. The macro location is more crucial than the micro location. As a result, Wales might be cheaper than the south of France, but within Wales itself, there is not a huge variation in price, when you equate like with like. Obviously, a five-bedroomed coastal cottage will be more expensive than a three-bedroomed one.

Another point worth looking into is the ownership of the coastal cottage. Is it owned by a private individual who lives near-by or is it owned by a large business. Is the cottage a genuine, original cottage or is it a new, mock cottage building? If it is old, is it connected with anyone famous or a famous event? Knowing these facts can all enhance your enjoyment.

Make certain that you are given some maps or drawings so that you can find the spot easily. Particularly if you are travelling to the cottage in the evening or in the dark. Things often look considerably different at night than in the daylight, and if your chosen cottage is in a quiet spot, there may not be any street lighting

Finally, get hold of some pictures of inside and outside the coastal cottage you finally decide on and then reserve it early, because the best coastal cottages go earlier and earlier every year as this form of vacationing becomes ever more popular.

Ron Paul Vs. Patrick Henry — A Critique Of “The Revolution”

Ron Paul is by far the most stalwart member of the U.S. Congress and a true American hero. However, his defense of the U.S. Constitution as the bulwark of American liberty in his campaign manifesto, is fatally flawed (“The Revolution”, Grand Central Publishing, 2008).

Because he never casts a vote contrary to the U.S. Constitution, Ron Paul has been dubbed “Dr. No” by his colleagues. The flyleaf of the book describes him as the leading advocate of freedom in our nation’s capital.

Ron Paul Fails To Grasp The Threat

But in the very act of embracing the Constitution Dr. Paul has ironically rejected the true Source of American liberty. He fails to understand why Patrick Henry and other anti-Federalists rejected the Constitution itself as an attack on liberty.

Dr. Paul’s position is that the Constitution was designed to limit the federal government’s range of authority (p.44)(Art. I, Sec. 8). That’s what the founders claimed, but experience has shown that the powers given away in Section 8 have been used to destroy the liberty of the states.

The states were left virtually naked before the monolith of federal power. Henry warned that when the powers of both sword and purse are granted to Congress we have an open invitation to tyranny.

The author explains that “The limitations the Constitution placed on the federal government had to be taken seriously if we expected to maintain a free society” (p45). But as Patrick Henry clearly understood, the limitations were not taken seriously because there were none.

Ron Paul even points out that “Patrick Henry raised precisely this concern…in Virginia.” That is the concern that ‘general welfare’ was a dangerously open-ended phrase that would permit the federal government to do whatever it wanted. But then he simply concludes that the ratifying convention rejected Henry’s objection, as if their wisdom cannot be challenged. But history has proven beyond question that Patrick Henry was right.

Abuse of Power

Given Ron Paul’s suspicion of central government, his endorsement of the Constitution’s power to raise armies is remarkable. He naively asserts it is “not a power to force people into the army” (p57).

Patrick Henry saw through that argument in an instant on June 16, 1788 in the Virginia Ratifying Convention. When the Constitution grants an unlimited authority to raise armies he declared, “It is a government of force, and the genius of despotism expressly.”

Ron Paul fails to understand that the Constitution was a counterfeit from the day it was struck in 1787. It promised liberty at the same time it rejected the fountainhead of liberty.

In conclusion, Ron Paul presents this challenge: “It is not too late to rally and recall our people to the constitution, the rule of law, and our traditional American republic” (p67). But notice the humanistic thrust of this call to action.

There is no word of an offended God or the need to return to His law. Only to that document which declared itself to be the “supreme law of the land” and thus rejected God’s law in the first place.

Was George Washington A Christian, Or Not? Convincing Evidence!

The debate over the reality of George Washington’s Christianity and that of other founding fathers will probably go on forever. We would be better off analyzing the documents they actually gave us.

Why is this important?

Nonetheless, we will go ahead and indulge in a favorite evangelical pastime. That is, debating about whether or not President Washington was a Christian. The assumption of the “pro” side is that if we can prove the founders were Christians, we thereby prove that the U.S. Constitution is Christian. The “con” side responds that the Constitution is not a Christian document and Christians are better off admitting it.

Most Christians are firmly convinced that Washington was a true blue, born-again, evangelical Christian. Others have their doubts.

A Study Of Source Documents

There are a lot of unanswered questions. Why are the references to Jesus Christ almost non-existent in Washington’ voluminous private and public correspondence? Why did Washington’s pastor state unequivocally that he doubted Washington’s Christianity? Why was Washington a high-ranking leader and faithful adherent in the cultish, Masonic Lodge?

The problem with trying to make any sense of Washington’s life is that it is shrouded in myth and legend. We have to be willing to wade through all of that and accept as evidence only primary source data. One man who did just that was Professor Paul Boller, who wrote a book called “George Washington & Religion” (SMU Press, 1963) based on direct testimony of contemporaries and extensive research in Washington’s public and private utterances.

The picture that emerged from these primary sources is far different from the vast body of myth and legend that had been built up by a succession of pietistic biographers. The latter popularized an encyclopedia of stories about Washington’s religiosity based on hearsay and scanty evidence that could never hold up in a court of law.

The Real Washington

Besides Washington’s own direct testimony the real picture is fleshed out by people who knew Washington well, most notably his pastor during the eight years of his Presidency. Dr. James Abercrombie questioned the sincerity of Washington’s faith. He noted that while Martha Washington always knelt with the communicants on communion Sunday, Washington invariably walked out.

Dr. Abercrombie concluded, “That Washington was a professing Christian, is evident from his regular attendance in our church; but, Sir, I cannot consider any man as a real Christian who uniformly disregards an ordinance so solemnly enjoined by the divine Author of our holy religion, and considered as a channel of divine grace.”

It cannot be denied that Washington hired chaplains to serve in the Continental Army. And it would be futile to deny that Washington made statements about the benefits of religion in society or that he attended church occasionally and served as a vestryman. But “Churchianity” is not Christianity and there is much evidence to indicate that Washington was possessed of the former and not the latter.

Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Franklin, and Adams were typical of others who denied the Divinity of Christ and therefore also denied his Kingship in the realm of civil government. Thus it is probably more accurate to describe the key founders as “unitarian” rather than Deistic. Most contemporary Christian historians are quick to deny the latter at the same time they ignore the former. But the implications for subsequent American history cannot be ignored and they have been devastating.

David Barton Rejects The Main Criteria For Biblical Government

Original Intent by David Barton sets forth the mistaken notion that America’s founders did not intend to separate church and state. The book was published by WallBuilders of Alemedo, Texas in 2000.

David Barton Argues Constitution Did Not Separate Church and State

This book focuses on the religious question of the separation of church and state. Mr. Barton attempts to prove from Supreme Court cases that it was not the intent of the founding fathers to erect a wall of separation between church and state.

The author discusses eight landmark Supreme Court religious liberty cases which followed the 1947 Everson case. The latter introduced the “wall of separation” terminology. In these he claims the Supreme Court rewrote the original intent of the founders.

Thesis Is Flawed

The problem with the book is a flawed thesis. The founders did in fact intend to separate the new government from the authority of biblical law. Surprisingly, David Barton actually applauds this, as we shall see below.

First Mr. Barton states that there is “no historical foundation for the proposition that the Founders intended to build the ‘wall of separation’…” (p.179). The actual words, “wall of separation” do not appear in the Constitution, but the wall is nonetheless set in place by Article VI, Section 3.

The little known requirement of this section sets up an inviolable wall of separation between the legal system and the law of God: “no religious test shall ever be required for any office…,” This section outlawed the so-called religious test oath that was found in most of the colonial charters and constitutions. These required the prospective officeholder to swear by oath to govern according to the law of God. The ban on the religious test oath thus opened the door for any belief system to compete with God for supremacy in the nation.

David Barton actually lauds the Article VI declaration of independence from God: “…it was therefore not within the federal government’s authority to examine the religious beliefs of any candidate” (p.34). He goes on to assert that the founders did a good thing by rejecting the requirements of the Christian religion as criteria for holding public office: “the investigation of the religious views of a candidate should not be conducted by the federal government…”

Religious Neutrality Condemned

And therein lies our great dilemma. We assume that this declaration of religious neutrality is somehow going to pass muster with God. It is as absurd as Moses descending from Mt Sinai and stating that we was going to leave religious matters to majority opinion within the tribes, while he remained officially neutral at the “Sinai level.”

On the contrary, it is the primary duty of government to require that its officials are committed to Christ and the Christian religion (not a particular denomination). It is cultural suicide to neglect this duty. The law of God is the only source of justice, and God expects the officeholder to swear to uphold it. David Barton fails to grasp this most basic biblical principle of civil government.

Departure from the original intent of the Constitution is not our problem. Rather, our problem lies in the seeds of humanism and religious neutrality that were planted originally in the Constitution and are bearing their evil fruit today.

Barry, South Wales: Ancient History: Part 2

In the Eighteenth Century, they found dishes, saws, knives, flints, a scraper, a prehistoric horn celt with strange markings, a spokeshave and some arrowheads from the Neolithic Period. These artifacts are safely ensconced in the Museum of Wales in Cardiff, but unfortunately, no one at the time thought the find significant enough to warrant a dig and now there are houses on it.

They also found an ancient Roman kitchen complete with utensils and food remains which appeared to have been abandoned in a hurry like the Marie Celeste. That wasn’t investigated either. In 1533, the King’s Antiquary, Leland, was told to tour all places where records were held. It took him nine years and his description of the island was as follows:

“It is about a mile in circumference and has good corn, grass and some wood, and there is no dwelling on the Island, but in the midst of it is a fair little Chapel of St. Baruch which is visited by many pilgrims. It took the name Barri from this holy man who was buried there and whose remains are yet on the Island”. (The Welsh name for Barry is Y Barri).

Vikings ravaged the coast of South Wales in the tenth century. They often took hostages from the monasteries, but they did not seem to want to live in the area. For a long tim, the island was known as the “Saints’ Retreat” or the “Island of Saints”. Afterwards, in the sixteenth century, it was inhabited by smugglers and pirates and was called the “Smugglers’ Fortress”. This became serious as it grew simultaneously with the rise of Bristol, Britain’s second largest port.

The island soon became the centre for smuggling and piracy in the Bristol Channel. In 1784, Barry Island became known as ‘The Fortress of Knight’. Kight was the most frequent and feared pirate in the channel but people were too afraid to speak out against him. He was also a local celebrity. His ship was armed and named ‘John O’ Combe’. The navy eventually routed him and he moved down to Lundy Island, which he also turned into a fortress. However, he and his successor, Arthur, went back to Barry so often that Customs requested the government to send a cutter to Penarth and 60 soldiers to Barry on permanent duty.

The seaside village of Rhoose was so renowned for its wreckers that George II sent troops to break up the gangs. They landed at Aberthaw, just up the coast a bit, “the Rhoose men’s favourite landing zone, from where they could easily transport the contraband along Port Road to Cardiff, the main market for such things”. While building the docks at Barry in the late Nineteenth Century, several large caves were filled in. They were probably used by the pirates who were moved on again in or about 1850.

Black Hills Gold Rings

Most people have aspirations for the future. Some people plan out their lives in elaborate detail from an early age, while others just hope that their dreams will come true. I think that that depends on the attitude to life you have as much as your personality. I definitely remember when I was a boy, that a few of the girls I knew when I was a boy, planning what they would do when they got married to so and so film star.

They did not know anything about marriage or what being married was like, they were just role playing, but some of those aspirations might have stuck.

None of the boys I knew thought about their future much at all. I did not either really although I knew that I wanted to go to university and travel after that. I studied French and German for three years and passed my exams.

After finishing university, I began working for an international firm and did some traveling. I have always liked jewellery although I do not wear a lot at the same time. I suppose I collect jewellery, but I like to wear it as well.

It was a practice of mine to buy a piece wherever I went, if I saw something I liked and if I could afford it. Anyway, I met a young lady while I was in America and I told her about my craze for collecting jewellery and rings in particular. I showed her a couple of rings that I had taken with me. One was a ring with a Celtic Knot design and another was an Irish Claddagh ring.

Anyway, we got on well and so she offered to take me to a jewellers that she knew. We went to a small back street jeweller, who had a choice of rings I had never heard of before. They were called Black Hills Gold Rings and they looked very distinctive. They have quite a range, including a lot of the common designs, but they also have a few kinds that I had never seen before. I was hooked and wanted one.

My friend really fell for a women’s wedding set. She had seen it in the window for months, but did not have anyone to give it to her. The engagement ring had two leaves and a grape cluster with a small diamond nestled in the middle of it, while the wedding band had two additional leaves and a grape cluster. This meant that when worn together, the two rings would fit together to enclose the diamond completely. It was very nice.

I had to grant that it was very beautiful, but felt it necessary to point out that I had not known her long enough to propose. She was a good sort and did not feel offended. I bought a striking white gold ring with the Black Hills gold roses inlaid on the top two thirds of the band, leaving the underside of the ring plain. It was a gorgeous addition to my collection. As for my guide, well, she did not get a ring, but I took her for an expensive meal and she seemed happy enough with that.
